Zone 5 — Ashen Oni Wastes (灰鬼原)
Ashen Oni Wastes (灰鬼原) is zone 5 of Yomi no Sho, designed for characters between level 20 and level 30.
An ash-choked plain where the Oni gather. The Ash Wanderer roams here with her cart, selling rare goods to those brave enough to cross the wastes. The Oni are tanky, the Gaki are fast — both will eat an undergeared character alive.
Level range
Section titled “Level range”Recommended: levels 20–30. You can travel here as soon as you reach level 20, but the boss of stage 10 will be challenging until you’re closer to level 30. Pushing into this zone below level 20 is possible but not recommended — the enemies’ base stats assume level-20 gear.
Enemies
Section titled “Enemies”Two enemy archetypes spawn in this zone. Each fight picks one at random. Both archetypes use the same stage scaling and boss rules (see Bestiary for details).

Boss (stage 10)
Section titled “Boss (stage 10)”Every 10th stage is a boss fight. The boss is the same archetype as the rest of the zone, but with significantly inflated stats:

At stage 10, enemies are also scaled by the stage multiplier of 1.72×. So a stage-10 boss’s actual stats are roughly:

Every combat victory has a 20% chance to roll an item drop. The dropped item is rolled from the game’s full item pool, but only items with minZone <= current zone are eligible. See Drop Rates for the full rarity weights.
In zone 5, the eligible items are those with minZone <= 5. This includes:
- All common items (minZone 1–5)
- All rare items (minZone 2–5)
- Some epic items (minZone 3–5)

NPCs in this zone
Section titled “NPCs in this zone”- Ash Wanderer (灰流浪人) — merchant. Sells rare gear, offers the Ash Revenant Hunt quest.
Strategy
Section titled “Strategy”The Oni’s 18 DEF and 340 HP make it a sponge. Single-hit nukes (Iaido Strike, Spirit Seal) are better than multi-hit skills here. The Gaki is fast (16 SPD) and crits often (14%) — dangerous to fragile classes. Drop back to zone 4 if you’re dying.
